Sometimes we’re asked about collection systems within New Zealand for unwanted e-waste. We’ll provide links below for some that we know about.
Warehouse Stationery: Accepts any brand of ink, toner, drum units, and labelling cassettes for recycling in-store, working with Brother and Recycling Group.
Harvey Norman: Accepts any brand of expended or unwanted ink cartridges, toner cartridges, drum cartridges and labelling cassettes. It’s completely free.
Tech Collect: Provides a disposal service free of charge to households and small businesses. You can recycle your end of life and unwanted computers, computer accessories, cameras and printers.
Recycling Group: For larger volumes, you can request a recycling collection box instead of visiting a drop-off point. You may even be eligible for a free pick-up service, available anywhere in the country.
Consumables Recyling Bin: We provide cardboard collection bins for our customers that will now take all IT products up to 20Kg in weight total. This includes print consumables, keyboards, mice, cables, small printers. Unfortunately loose batteries of any kind will no longer be accepted due to the severe risk or fire during transit. If the battery is embedded in the finished product ie laptops this is an accepted product.
Inks and toners must be returned in a protective packaging to avoid powder and ink leakage. Cardboard boxes should be taped closed at the bottom to avoid splitting in transit for Health and Safety. 20KG cardboard boxes are not to be overfilled, any boxes weighing more than the 20KG limit will not be collected by the courier. For bigger scale projects we also provide collapsible crates.
Changes happen, so we appreciate any feedback you can give us that will help to keep this page updated.
