Replaced the DR2025 Drum on your Brother printer and the light doesn’t go out? That’s because you have to reset the drum counter when you replace the drum unit.
To reset the counter on your new drum unit for HL-2040 HL-2030 HL-2070 please follow the procedure listed below.
- Turn printer on if it isn’t already.
- Open the front cover.
- Press and hold the “GO” button for about 4 seconds until all the LED’s light up.
- Release the Go button
- Close the front cover. Your drum counter should now be reset.
To reset the drum counter on multifunction models DCP-7020, FAX-2820, FAX-2910, FAX-2920, MFC-7220, MFC-7225N, MFC-7420, MFC-7820N:
- Open the front cover and press the Options key on the control panel. The display will show “REPLACE DRUM – 1.YES 2.NO”.
- Press 1 to reset the drum count then close the front cover.
Note: This should get you printing again. If you have not replaced the drum your printing will drop in quality as the drum wears down. You’ll still need to replace the drum at some stage. REMEMBER to reset the counter when you replace the drum unit.
