After replacing the drum units DR240CL in your HL-3040CN, HL-3045CN, HL-3070CW or HL-3075CW colour laser printer you’ll have to reset the page counter.
The following steps are the procedure to perform the counter reset
- Turn the printer power switch on (if its off, and it should be off when you replace the drum/s).
- Press + or – to choose “Machine Info.“.
- Press OK to proceed to the next menu level, and then press + or – to choose “Reset Parts Life“.
- Press OK, and then press + to choose “Drum Unit“.
- Press OK, and then press + or – to choose the colour that you replaced.
- Press OK two times.
If you’ve replaced more than one colour you will need to repeat the last two steps for the other colours.
For use on Brother HL3040CN, HL3045CN, HL3070CW or HL3075CW series colour printers.
Note: This should get you printing again. If you have not replaced the drum your printing will drop in quality as the drum wears down. You’ll still need to replace the drum at some stage. REMEMBER to reset the counter when you replace the drum unit.
